- ➤ Growing Together Community Gardens is quickly filling up as first-time gardeners join the program. Founder Jack Wood said that three of ten spots are full and sixty new members have joined this spring—while a potato planting clinic is planned for April 22nd and more than 300 volunteers work together to grow produce each year. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday night, a south Fargo motorcycle crash injured Avery Quiner (a 20-year-old employee with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department from Moorhead) when his bike hit a car at the intersection of 31st Street and 52nd Avenue S and he was taken to the hospital while investigators said his motorcycle had been going as fast as 140 miles per hour earlier. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Moorhead police said a fatal shooting on April 13 left 39-year-old James Hamilton dead from many gunshot wounds—35-year-old Jerome Anthony Thomas III and 32-year-old Abby Fredrickson were arrested during a traffic stop in Michigan and now are held in Marquette County Correctional Facility as authorities seek charges of homicide and attempted homicide. - ➤ Fans of classic soft rock will enjoy the Classic Rock Reunion at Bluestem on August 17 when Pure Prairie League, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Orleans and Firefall take the stage. Ticket prices range from $35 to $89.50 plus fees — an online-only presale runs Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with regular sales starting Friday morning. KVRR

- ➤ The City of Moorhead swore in new police chief Chris Helmick today; he comes from the Fargo Police Department where he served since 2001 — holding roles as captain and in investigations — and he replaces Shannon Monroe after more than 30 years with the department. KVRR
