CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Moorhead police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile after a shots-fired call in Romkey Park just after midnight Monday and he is held at the West Central Juvenile Center on charges of negligent discharge—detectives also executed a search warrant at a nearby residence while the case is under review by the Clay County Attorney’s Office. - ➤ Industry leaders gathered at Microsoft Commons when the FMWF Chamber hosted a panel on crime, safety and business impact. Chiefs Chris Helmick, David Zibolski and Peter Nielsen reported that while crime statistics dropped in 2024, calls for service—mostly for mental health cases—increased and noted that Moorhead still needs more officers. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Concordia researchers are recruiting volunteers aged 50 to 70 to study links between weight, cognition, and new weight-loss drugs as summer approaches. Participants will have body composition and resting metabolism measured in the Bod Pod — followed by tests on memory and other cognitive skills — to track changes during the study. KVRR
