- ➤ USDA officials say turkey prices are rising for Thanksgiving because bird flu outbreaks have cut the supply of birds—grocery chains are charging between 84 cents and nearly $2 per pound. NDSU will hold sessions soon to check for bird flu while the USDA expects prices to stabilize next year. KVRR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry settled a case with RD Offutt Farms in which the Fargo-based company paid over $160,000—more than $82,000 for earned sick and safe time and over $80,000 in penalties for failing to provide employee statements for 101 migrant workers, with the funds going to the affected employees. The investigation covered benefits during the 2024 audit period. KVRR
